MCL’s e-PROCUREMENT SYSTEM BAGS PRESTIGEOUS eWORLD 2011 AWARDS

In the one of the largest Information & Communication Technology(ICT) event, eWorld 2011 Forum, the implementation of e-Procurement system for Goods, Works and Services by Mahanadi Coalfields Limited was awarded as the Best Project in Government to Business(G2B) Category on 2th August 2011. This mega ICT event is organised by Centre for Science, Development and Media Studies(CSDMS) , ELETS Tehno-media and co-organised by Department of Information Technology of Govt of India, Directorate General of Employment and Training of Ministry of Labour, IGNOU, Ministry of Corporate Affair, Ministry of Panchayati Raj, National e-Governance Plan and various State Govt Departments. Sri Ashok Kumar Singh, Director(Technical) and Sri Kulamani Biswal, Director (Finance) and Sri S.K.Bhanja, Project Manager( e-Procurement), MCL received the award from Shree Jyotiraditya Scindhia, Hon. Minister of State, Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India in the mega award ceremony at The Ashoka, New Delhi . Sri A.K.Singh, Director(Technical) also expressed his views on “ICT Implementation in PSUs” in a panel discussion in this e-World forum. Since its inception from 15th August 2009, MCL’s e-Procurement System has been receiving awards and recognitions in national and international forum and this is for the third time in last two years this innovative project of MCL has received awards. MCL’s this initiative in ICT implementation was recognised by a large number of delegates, eminent academicians, technocrats, bureaucrats and senior executives from various organisations, institutions including World Bank and Ministry of IT from different countries like India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Egypt, Malaysia, etc.
